Email Newsletter Subscription Tips

More and more spam (junk email) filtering software and services are blocking newsletters like ours. In order to receive each issue, take a moment to add our address (jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com) to your address book.

Tips for AOL Mail Users

AOL users, you can open your address book by selecting "View->Address Book" from the menu at the top of your AOL window. Then click the "Add Contact" button and fill in jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com. Keep these in your address book to ensure continued delivery. Other ISPs will have similar mail-allow systems.

If your AOL Mail Controls are set to allow mail only from other AOL accounts, you will not receive our newsletter via e-mail. Here's how:

Type "Mail Controls" into the AOL address bar or click the "Keyword" button and type "Mail Controls." On the "AOL Mail Controls" screen, click on "General Controls." In the drop-down menu, select the screen name you want to set the mail controls for. (Only those with primary screen names can change Mail Controls.) Select the button for "Allow all e-mail to be delivered to this Screen Name. Click the "Next" arrow. Review the settings and click "Save." Click the "Close" button.

Tips for Hotmail & Yahoo! Mail Users

Messages from lists and groups are generally sent to your "Junk" or "Bulk" folder - not your inbox. As a result, you might never see our messages: they will be deleted or lost amongst all the spam. To receive our messages, log onto your Hotmail or Yahoo account. Click Options, near top right. Then...

Hotmail: under Junk E-mail Protection, Mailing Lists, add Then, under Junk E-mail Protection, Safe List, add jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com.

Yahoo! Mail: If SpamGuard(tm) is On, go to (1) Mail Options, Spam Protection; choose "Save these messages in the Bulk folder". Also choose "When I mark a message in the Bulk folder as Not Spam: Move the message to my Inbox". Click Save Changes then continue to Options. (2) Then click Filters, Add. Filter Name: jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com.

From header contains jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com. Move the message to Inbox. Just to be sure, you might want to check your Bulk folder from time to time. If you see one of our messages, mark it as not spam.
