Getting us back into the swing of things Burning Man on playa and around the world, we've got some cool videos to serve up, some nice writings about Burning Man from around the 'net, some goodies you can download and enjoy (Burning Man 2011 screen saver anyone?), and some great events you might want to get on out to -- including the official Burnal Equinox celebration in SF! Oh, and it's time to register your playa project ... hop on that.
This is a brief respite from ticket news though ... we're going to be coming back at you soon with some more announcements and information about ticket sales, including further details on the STEP system and more. Stay tuned.

BURNING MAN'S SECURE TICKET EXCHANGE PROGRAM (STEP) POLICY CHANGE
(This post is reprinted from the Burning Blog, where we welcome your comments: http://bit.ly/yAfCuE)
Last week we announced (http://bit.ly/ytgfxk) changes to the sales process for Burning Man 2012 tickets, including adjustments to the Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP). At that time we announced a policy of allowing people to purchase only one (1) non-transferable ticket per person through STEP.
However, after further consideration and much feedback from you, we've decided that this policy is unfair to people who originally registered for two tickets in the Main Sale, one for themselves and one for their significant other, family member, friend, or campmate.
We hear you, and we’re listening. That’s why we're adjusting this policy to allow people who originally registered for two tickets in the Main Sale to request a maximum of two tickets per person through STEP. (If our records show that you originally registered for only one ticket in the Main Sale, you can only request one ticket through STEP.) All tickets purchased through STEP are non-transferable, and will be held at Will Call only. These tickets should be for you (or you and an identified guest).
Also, it's important to note that STEP will have only as many tickets available as there are people who sell their tickets into it. We believe that people will also be selling/giving tickets within their immediate circle of friends and local community- and we aren’t trying to change that. It’s likely that few will find themselves holding “extra” tickets without already having a friend or camp mate in need, so we don’t anticipate STEP will have a high, regular flow of tickets; we anticipate an early influx and then a trickle as people’s plans develop, though we'd be happy to be proven wrong on this. We also know that in any typical year, there is a fair amount of summertime turnover as the event gets closer and life events cause Burners’ plans to change. We encourage you to first seek out tickets from your immediate community of friends and cohorts, as well as any other avenues for acquiring face-value, legitimate tickets as you can find, without patronizing scalpers.
If you are eligible to participate in STEP, you'll be receiving an email at the end of February with information about how to sign up. For more information about Burning Man tickets and STEP, please see our ticket page: http://tickets.burningman.com.

FAMILIES AT BURNING MAN SURVEY
Burning Man has created this ANONYMOUS survey for Burners who have children, to help us understand more about how children and families experience the Burning Man event. Please help us by filling out this form by March 2, 2012 and forward this survey to any Burner parents you know. Questions about this survey? Contact rosalie (at) burningman (dot) com.
BURNING MAN LEGO SET
Yes, this is fake. But it's definitely awesome ... a clever Burner came up with the idea for a Burning Man Lego set. (Psst. We want one.)
HOW LONG UNTIL BURNING MAN?
"Along the same lines as http://isthemanburning.com mentioned in the last newsletter, a little while ago I made http://howlongtillburningman.com for the perpetually-refreshing pleasure of burners everywhere. Would be honoured if you could share it in the newsletter :)
'FALLING MAN' SCREENSAVERS AVAILABLE
"'As close to 'skydiving the playa' that most of us will ever get!'
Commander Gaijin reports that the fine makers of the software that powers 'The Burning Man Screen Saver Project' have created a free simple experimental screensaver for both Mac and Windows using last year's famous ESA satellite photo of Black Rock City. The long-time burners at iScreensaver also have been updating both software and features of some of the older screensaver collections for the TBMSSP. For those on work-computers, the Commander notes you can simply preview the screensavers from the downloaded installers without even actually installing.
MUTANT VEHICLES AT BURNING MAN 2011
John Cantwell writes:
"I'm wondering if you'd mind sharing this article I wrote about the mutant vehicles at Burning Man 2011. It appeared in Autoweek with great photos of several cars. You can check it out here:
Last year was my first Burn, and writing the article was a great chance to meet lots of warm, wonderful, talented people, including MARTI, a long-time Burner who wound up becoming my photographer for the story. Big thanks also to the folks at Media Mecca.
Peace and love.
BURNING MAN 2011 EXODUS - ONE HOUR NEIGHBORHOODS
Here's a cool blog post by Christine (last name unknown) about the "one hour neighborhoods" that pop up during the height of Burning Man Exodus, made more sane and environmentally friendly by Pulsing, which was first adopted during the 2010 event. Good food for thought about how to maximize the pleasure of your Exodus:
Which reminds us ... we're going to be talking a lot about ingress and egress (aka Exodus) for the event this year, because yeah, making that all work is up to all of us. Stay tuned.
FLYING OVER BRC IN AN ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT
This? Is rad. Do we want a ride? Hell yes we want a ride. Though our death wish is in the shop for repairs. Damien writes:
"Hello! for the last 2 years I've brought my 2 seater ultralight aircraft and gifted flights around Burning Man to many many people. Below is a video from the recent Burn. If I am there this coming year I will do the same so feel free to spread the word!
BILLION BUNNY MARCH VS. ANIMAL CONTROL 2011
You really can't beat large-scale spontaneous performance art (the bunnies battling it out in Thunderdome is particularly epic). NSFW if your co-workers can't deal with seeing a butt. Thanks DougJ11!
p.s. While the video is titled the "Million Bunny March", it's actually called the "Billion Bunny March". Just sayin'.

BURNING MAN QUEER LEADERSHIP SUMMIT - SAN FRANCISCO, CA - MARCH 16-18
[Note: While we don't normally post local events of this scale, we thought this was a GREAT idea and one that we'd love to see other Burners around the world pick up and run with, whatever your particular proclivity or special interest may be.] Scott writes:
"As this year's Burning Man season starts up, it's time for queer theme camps, villages, art projects & mutant vehicles to Come Together to discover, recruit, learn, discuss, and share ideas. (The one VERY IMPORTANT thing to remember is the word Queer is NOT EXCLUSIVE and not derogatory. We have some great hetero or hetero-adjacent friends that are a part of the community of all genders.)
Cosponsored by queer theme camps:
