2008 Art Theme: "American Dream"
In 2008, leave narrow and exclusive ideologies at home and carefully consider your immediate experience. What has America achieved that you admire? What has it done or failed to do that fills you with dismay? What is laudable? What is ludicrous? Put blame aside, let humor thrive, and dare to contemplate a larger question: What can America contribute to the world?

What Is Burning Man?
Every year, tens of thousands of participants gather to create Black Rock City in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, dedicated to self-expression, self-reliance, and art as the center of community. They leave one week later, having left no trace. Read Burning Man's mission statement, Ten Principles,
and learn more about this incredible experience.
Tickets for Burning Man 2008
Tickets for Burning Man 2008 are still on sale. Tickets will NOT be sold at the gate this year. Walk-in ticket outlets are now selling tickets. Visit our tickets page for more info and to purchase tickets.
Project Registration Closed
Theme Camp, Art Installation and Mutant Vehicle pre-registration are now closed. Remaining camping space is now first-come first-served; you're encouraged to bring your art and register it on playa; but only approved, pre-registered Mutant Vehicles are permitted to drive in Black Rock City.
Prepare for the Playa
The 2008 Survival Guide is mandatory reading for every participant. Get to and from the event the eco-friendly way by ridesharing, and get oriented with the BRC 2008 Map. Add your on-playa event or happening to the online Playa Calendar, which becomes the What Where When guide handed out at the gate.
