This
is how we build Black Rock City 2002
The DPW works on
infrastructure at the Work Ranch, located 10 miles to the north on a neighboring
ranch.
On August 1st, the 'on the playa' portion of work begins with the survey, but
most of the work continues at the Work Ranch. On August 15th, the DPW takes up
residence on our patch of playa. These are the participants who spend most days
surveying streets, putting up signs, constructing a power grid and building the
Man, working long, hard hours in 100+ degree temperatures.
