OUTSIDE SERVICE PROVIDERS
To paraphrase the great Hunter S. Thompson, "when the going gets weird, the weird hire pros." Below you will find information about the organizations we work with onsite, and throughout the year. Their hard work and dedication during the event provides you with a safer place to play. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), an agency within the U.S. Department of the Interior, administers 264 million acres of America's public lands, located primarily in 12 western states. This includes the Black Rock Desert. The BLM's goal is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. Throughout the year, Burning Man works closely with the BLM to ensure the goals of our two organizations are compatible. This includes the permit process and cleanup efforts of our organization.

The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) provides Burning Man with emergency medical services. They are located in Center Camp. If you have an emergency medical situation that requires the injured person remain where they are, please contact a Black Rock Ranger immediately.
If you keep a couple feet away from the flames, drink plenty of water and watch out for rebar, you should have no need to meet anyone from REMSA.
