Most of the quality restaurants are to be found in downtown Reno, but there are others scattered about the region. Here is a listing of favorites and others throughout the area, but please be sure to check into the respective shopping hub for more details and as to what else is in the area.

Blue Moon Pizza

Open Mon-Sat 11am-9pm, Sun 1pm-9pm. A local secret, Blue Moon wins accolades from folks in the know. Many vegetarian pizzas, and they stuff the pie to the brim.

Open daily 11am-9pm. Local burger joint with an unusual, tasty menu from traditional burgers and fries to ahi, bison, or gyro burgers. gluten-free buns, vegetarian options, salads, and beer and wine also on the menu. They also serve ice cream, sundaes and such to harden your arteries with glee.

Open daily 11am-9:30pm. Comes highly recommended for all-you-can-eat and large menu of items at great prices for quality Chinese food.

Open Mon-Fri 7am-4pm, Sat 10am-4pm. A very favorite deli among the locals serving vegans/vegetarians as well as carnivores with a wide variety of very, VERY GOOD food at reasonable prices. Also does catering. Highly recommended.
3950 Mayberry Drive – 775-747-4343 - (West McCarran and Mae Anne Ave.)
Not your normal pizza place, this pizzeria offers artisan pizzas with lots of topping choices. Check out the “secret menu” on their website for some of their latest creations!
Einstein Brothers Bagels

Open Sun-Thu 11am – 8pm, Fri-Sat 11am-9pm. Great burgers with meat options, chicken, turkey, and veggie, plus salads. Burger sizes go up to 24oz dubbed the XXXL. You get your picture on the wall if you can finish that 2000 calorie beast!
Gandolfo’s New York Delicatessen

Open 10am-10pm daily. Popular spot among local burners and a big supporter of the community, with real good beer and food.

Open Mon-Fri 8am-90m, Sat 8am-9pm. A relatively new and great place offering a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner entree, sandwich, soup and dessert options for vegetarians, vegans, raw and omnivores. Highly recommended.

Open daily 9am-9pm. Call ahead for after-hours possibilities. A wonderfully cozy place to sit down, kick back, and enjoy some food. The menu includes breakfast items, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and salads. Vegetarian/vegan options also available.

India Kabob and Curry

Open daily 11:30am-10:30pm, with lunch buffet from 11:30 til 3:00. One of the best Indian restaurants in the area. Most notably, they have a pretty darn good lunch buffet that is fairly affordable, with plenty of options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches

Open 10:30am-9pm daily. Jimmy John thinks Subway was founded by doctors with no sense of taste or smell. They serve deli cuts on white, seven grain wheat or a lettuce wrap. Platters available.
Louie’s Basque Corner

Open Mon 4pm-930pm, Tue-Sat 11am-9:30pm, Sun 4pm-930pm. The legendary and highly recommended Louie’s provides a memorable Basque lunch and dinner experience.

Oxbow Cafe and Bistro

Open Tue-Fri 7:30am-8:00pm, Sat 8:00am-8:00pm, Sun 8:00am-4:00pm. A brand new restaurant providing high quality breakfast, lunch and dinner options for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Nice wine selection and espresso bar. In the arts district, so a great place to get some food while checking out some of the neighboring art spaces.

Located in the Scolaris shopping center, The Pizza Factory is a family-owned restaurant that has very good food and wonderful hospitality, and they really love to take care of us! Providing a wide range of pizza, sandwich, and pasta options, including for vegans and vegetarians. Comes highly recommended!

Open 11am-11pm daily, except Sundays open at 9am for brunch. A long-time favorite hangout of many vegetarians and vegans as well as non-vegetarians, the laid back and cozy atmosphere quickly leads one to forget where one is at in the biggest little city. Seating at times may be hard to come by, as it is a very popular and cozy hole-in-the-wall, but well worth the wait. The entrance is located in the northeast corner of the Truckee River Lodge Building on Ralston St. It’s up the stairs on the back side of the building and is easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there. Highly recommended!

The Seed Cafe

Open Mon-Thur 7am-830pm, Fri 7am-630pm, Sat 9am-5pm and Sun 11am-3pm. The Seed Cafe is a delightful place providing raw vegan, organic and gluten-free breakfast, lunch and dinner options for all. Juices, smoothies, sandwiches, salads and desserts with love and care are their specialties. Highly recommended.

St. James Brasserie

Recently opened and already a great hit, St. James Brasserie is an outstanding restaurant and brewery with many choices of great food, beer and wine to choose from. Highly recommended.
Steve’s Homemade Ice Cream

Open Sun-Thur 11am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11am-10pm. Enormous portions of fresh dessert lusciousness. Sugar-free frozen yogurts, non-dairy ices, italian ices, smoothies, cakes, …and various other non-artificial ice creams. Belgian waffles for the sundeas are made to order! How about that after a week in the desert?

Open Mon-Thur and Sun 11am-11pm, Fri and Sat 11am-midnight. All-you-can-eat sushi and a wide variety of other Japanese dishes seem to be a common craving for burners, and this is the place in Fernley to get it. Options for vegetarians too.
