THEME CAMP CRITERIA
Criteria for a Theme Camp and Village
- Camps should be visually stimulating.
- Theme Camps must be interactive. They should include activities, events or service to the Burning Man Community in general. In most cases creating a chill dome with music and relaxation is not enough to receive placement. Some camp members should be at your camp at all times in order for your activities to be as accessible to others as possible.
- The placement registration questionnaire goes "live" February
15th and its deadline, as well as for camp layout plans and leave no trace
plans, is May 31st, at midnight. Please register your camp prior to the deadline
so that you may receive the Placement Announcements that we email once you
are registered. They will provide you with all of the answers to your questions.
Get in the loop - register as soon as your plans are solidified.
- We will not place your camp without a filed Web Questionnaire, Camp Plans, and Leave No Trace plans. Plans must be in aerial perspective complete with dimensions in feet.
You can submit the plans four ways:
- If you have posted your plan on the interwebs, send plan URL web address in an email with camp name in the subject line to campplans (at) burningman (dot) com. Include camp name in subject line.
- Email your Camp plans as an email attachment of no more than one megabyte (1MB) in size, with your Camp name in the subject line, to campplans (at) burningman (dot) com. Preferable file format is .jpg. Other acceptable formats are .pfd, .gif, .tif, and .doc (please use campplans (at) burningman (dot) com for plans only.
